The tourism working group met in Ladybrand for its first meeting where two members of the MDR EXCO were present. We have been granted finance for marketing wich will be administrated by the MDTF.
We will be attending Indaba next year on a sponsered stand from the granted funds. The Maloti Drakensberg Route has been given top ten priority by Tourism SA as we are the longest route in Africa. Great excitement lies ahead for all.

The AGM was held in Ladybrand in October. This meeting was of great sinifigance as the MOU's were signed and delegates from various government departments were present. An informative presentation was given by Mr Justin Mcrory, who is the newly appointed
Tourism specialist. All left the meeting well motivated for the road ahead

Thank you to Rabson Dhlodlo who was able to facilitate a double stand at the 2011 Indaba show held in Durban. The stand ws well visited by tour operators and journalists, a number of these offering to visit sections of the route. We have new members from the Central Drakensberg on board and good enquiries coming from the Northern Drakensberg. Thank you to the members who helped the EXCO to man the stand.
